The Eastern Michigan University College of Health and Human Services is one of several colleges at Eastern Michigan University. The college was established the College of Human Services in 1975. The college is housed in the Marshall Building, next to the College of Education (Porter Hall). The College of Health and Human Services includes majors such as Social Work, Dietetics, Clinical Laboratory Science, Health Administration and Nursing. ==History== Eastern Michigan University established the College of Human Services in 1975. The original college included home economics, nursing, medical technology, and occupational therapy. To encompass the various programs. the college was renamed the College of Health and Human Services on April 21, 1982. In 2000 the Marshall Building opened, which is the current home of the College of Health and Human Services. The building is named after Everett L. Marshall, Dean of Records and Teacher Certification. In the late 2000s (decade) the school went through a restructuring leading to the creation of many new programs. Eastern Michigan University College of Health and Human Services was the first on the EMU campus to have departments be designated as professional schools.
